Ceramics
Ceramics Department was open in the early 60-ies of the XX century. Many years of hard work of the students and the tutors of the Department resulted in creation of an original style in this kind of art. We here place the students’ works which demonstrate both impeccable technical skills and artistic personality of young artists. Many of the works are bright samples of national style.
At the department the students learn the skills of the main types of ceramics arts and methods of decoration. They create tableware of clay, majolica and faience, as well as decorative panels and sculptures. A lot of attention is paid to Russian majolica painting techniques. Many graduates of the College are now the leading artists of Gzhel, Dulevo and other ceramic art centers in Russia.
