WOOD PAINTING. Old-Russian Painting Techniques.
Since Perestroika began the College has been doing a lot of work in Orthodox cultural heritage field, since restoration and creation of new churches require decoration in traditional canonical style.
The tutors of Old Russian Painting Department give knowledge of traditional school of icon painting and other techniques.
They take their students to major museums and cathedrals inside and outside Moscow for improving  their knowledge and skills.
There are students’ and their tutors’ works in numerous Moscow churches, including the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin, Christ the Savior Cathedral and Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Some of their works in old Russian painting technique has become a part of the collection of the Educational Museum.
