WOOD CARVING
Wood is a multipurpose material that man learnt to process in ancient times. Some methods of the wood processing are aimed at creating functional objects, others only provide decoration and artistic finish. The students of the College have the opportunities to learn different types of carving: from simple geometric forms to round sculptures. The exhibits of the museum demonstrate that in spite of purely practical application of the wooden objects they all are marked with a touch of beauty. The designers paid a great deal of attention to the form, proportions and the beauty of the material. Numerous museum articles decorated with carving would inspire not only specialists but also the people who do not appreciate much applied arts.
