Stone Carving
The stone carving collection began to develop in 1936, when the Stone Carving School was open.
The best students’ and teachers’ works continue to replenish it.
These methods and technique vary a lot, but each work combines creative design with the peculiarities of the material.
Fortunately the Urals are reach in ornamental stones: talcum peach, gypsum, selenite, green marble, serpentine, calcite – these stones make by far non-exhaustive list of materials the Kungur carvers have at their disposal.
